Tornado

The Mandako Tornado is a 10’ tillage tool with dual independent coulter mounts and a blade angle you change on the go, from 0–14°. Put the 13 Wave blades on it and it runs as Vertical Till; the Samurai is Minimum Till; the Concave turns it into a High-Speed Till machine. Disc spacing is 5″ and the tractor needs 150+ HP.

Vertical Till

Sizes residue and mixes it into the top few inches so it breaks down faster.
Opens the soil with the least disturbance of the three blades.
Leaves residue on the surface, which holds moisture and topsoil in place.
Runs wet or dry without smearing a layer under the blade.
The blade to take for fracturing, not for moving dirt.

Samurai

Minimum Till

Serrated and self-sharpening, so the edge stays through the season.
Cuts heavy residue and sod that stops a plain blade.
Works in all weather conditions.
The blade for grassland work and hay ground.
Opens wet soil so it dries and airs out.

Concave

High-Speed Till

Built to be driven fast, which is where the acres per hour come from.
Chops crop residue and works it in rather than leaving it whole on top.
Set shallow or deep with the same single-point control.
Serrated and self-sharpening.
Works best with the blade angle between 5–14°.

Advantages of the model

Three blades, one frame

13 Wave for vertical tillage, Samurai for minimum till and sod, Concave for high-speed work. The blade set decides what the machine is, and the 0–14° hydraulic angle fine-tunes it in the field.

Residue sized, not buried

The discs cut and mix crop residue at 5″ spacing instead of turning it under, and the baskets or the AR400 spike harrow level what is left. The seedbed comes out even in one pass.

Coulters that trip on their own

Dual independent spring trip coulters on quick-change hubs with triple-lip seals. A rock lifts one blade and the rest keep cutting; a damaged blade comes off without pulling a gang apart. Grade 50 steel through the frame.

Set from the seat

Hydraulic single-point depth control, hydraulic blade angle and a hydraulic levelling kit, with colour-coded handles so hookup takes a minute. Three ports and 5GPM at 2800 PSI is what the tractor has to supply.

What makes the Tornado different from other tillage machines?

The blade set. Three options fit the same frame — 13 Wave, Samurai and Concave — and the hydraulic angle moves 0–14° while you drive, so one machine does vertical, minimum or high-speed tillage instead of three.

Can the Tornado handle heavy residue and tough field conditions?

Corn stalks and prairie sod are what the Samurai blade is for; it is serrated and self-sharpening and cuts what a plain blade rides over. The Concave chops and incorporates at speed. Behind either, 16″ baskets or the AR400 rolling spike harrow level the field.

How easy is it to adjust and maintain the Tornado?

Depth is hydraulic single-point, blade angle is hydraulic and on the go, and the levelling kit is hydraulic too. Coulter hubs are quick-change with triple-lip seals, and the hydraulic handles are colour-coded.

What kind of tractor power does the Tornado require?

Which blade should I order?

13 Wave if you want to fracture soil and size residue with the least disturbance. Samurai if you cut sod, hay ground or heavy trash. Concave if you cover acres fast and want residue chopped in. All three are heat-treated.
